The community of Molise in Montreal consists of about 80 000 people and is divided into 50 associations representing their own individual towns. Being a very large community, in 1983 FAMQ was established at the provincial level and later refounded in 1987 at the federal level. The FAMQ is a representative body and link between the Molise Regions and its affiliated associations. The FAMQ along with the affiliated associations not only have the task of planning projects of utmost importance, but to defend and maintain those values that the Molise associations have acquired in the last forty years of struggle in the history of the Italian community of (Quebec) Canada .
